CGE Cable Replacement Project
This is the "Do-It-Yourself" version where you source your own parts and fabricate everything from scratch. It works just as well as the purchased Kit but it is a lot of work and some parts are hard to find. Soldering experience is a MUST!
As far as I know, only 3 people have built their own cable replacement kit. But anyone with reasonably good soldering skills can expect to succeed Be aware that this is a very time consuming project. A good chunk of that time will be spent finding the parts you'll need.
